Prof. Firoza Begum

Prof. Firoza Begum is a highly trained professional with more than 30 years of devoted and proven experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology practice. She is the Head of the Department of Fetomaternal Medicine since its establishment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka — one of the largest and most prestigious health facilities in Bangladesh.

She is a renowned infertility specialist in the country with vast experience and success in assisted reproductive technology, and runs a hospital on assisted reproduction, maternal and child health. A motivating and talented teacher, she inspires students through her academic and personal excellence and always strives to create a challenging learning environment. She is a thought leader in the emerging Gynaecology sector.

She has devoted her time, experience and skill to improving maternal health across Bangladesh, with the aim of reducing maternal mortality and morbidity. She is experienced in executing and running quality hospitals, and has been working at community level in both rural and urban areas, developing partnerships with international and national affiliated societies, NGOs, the Government of Bangladesh, and other reproductive health agencies.
